For December to April travel, 2-4 weeks ahead is safest since permits sell out fast in peak season. October, May and June are more forgiving for shorter notice.
Gypsy is a private 6-seater jeep — flexible, personal, better for photography. Canter is a shared 20-seater — more economical, easier to book on short notice, better for larger groups.
We can request a preferred zone, but the forest department's real-time permit system makes final allotment partly random. We'll always tell you honestly what's actually confirmed rather than promising a specific zone months out.

The core tiger zones close for monsoon from 1 July to 30 September and reopen 1 October. Ranthambore Fort and some other experiences remain open independently of the safari zones.
